Last Thursday, Pamela Rauseo was
driving along Miami's Dolphin Expressway when she noticed that her
five-month-old nephew was unwell.
Little
Sebastian, who suffers from respiratory problems after being born prematurely,
had already started to turn blue. His aunt leapt out of her car and cried for
help.
"My
sister had trusted me with him," Ms. Rauseo, 37, said. "I
don't know how I remembered what to do. I just knew I couldn't let him
die".
She started giving the baby the CPR procedure (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) as
several people stopped to help. A policeman soon took over the
CPR. He and other witnesses got the baby breathing again before emergency
workers arrived.
