Maiduguri Car Bombing kills 51 leaving not less than 60 injured



Two thunderous explosions, suspected to be from detonated bombs, were heard in the city at about 6.15 p.m. on saturday being the 1st of March, 2014.
Several persons have been killed by this bomb explosion constructed strategically by suspected Boko Haram sect militants, in a pickup van carrying firewood.
The huge explosion which occurred around 6 pm Nigerian time in a densely populated Bintu-Sugpa area along Airport road in Gomari neighborhood killed and injured about 51 number of people leaving over 60  people injured while others fled for safety according to the officials of  red cross and security agencies that came to enhance the evacuation of trapped victims.
At the Umaru Shehu Hospital, many families were seen taking the remains of their loved ones for burial. "It is another sad moment for us, we have lost our children, our breadwinners and our neighbours," said Habiba Musa, who said two of her children were killed in the blast.
Source said the bombers targeted a market place and packed TV viewing center in the attack.
