Borno state has been in a state of terror. Following the incident in Mafa, Borno state here has been another fresh attack on Jakana Village in
Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State last night, by terrorist sect Boko
Haram.
Sources
state that the attack lasted till 3 a.m this morning, and described the events
as horrendous as the residents ran away, while villagers from a neighbouring
village of Auno had to flee Njimtilo, another village outside Maiduguri, after
seeing the skies being lighted by burning fire from the direction of the
attacked village.
A
villager said:
We
spent the night in Njimtilo village after running from our own village, Auno.
Even in Njimtilo we could still hear the sounds of shooting in Jakana. We hope
our brethren there will survive this calamity that has befallen us”.
Victims
from the Jakana village reportedly said that the sect had warned them of an
imminent attack, therefore many of the villagers had fled their homes a week
ago. The warnings were allegedly handed down by Boko Haram members via leaflets
dropped around the village.
The
Borno Police Public Relations Officer, Gideon Jubrin, confirmed the incident to
journalists but said there were no details yet.

Monday night attack in Jakana occurs about 24 hours after at least 32 people
